The Deep Focus Pack: beta binaural beats for concentration
Beta waves dominate when you are actively thinking — solving problems, reading complex material, writing code, having a focused conversation. They are the brain's default state during waking activity that requires mental effort. But there is a difference between normal beta (which floods your mind with every distraction and urgency) and sustained, focused beta (the state where you can hold attention on one thing for an extended period without drifting).
The Deep Focus Pack brings that sustained state to you through three carefully generated beta binaural audio tracks. At 20Hz — right in the middle of the beta band — these sessions are designed specifically for deep work: long stretches of uninterrupted, analytical thinking where your attention does not fragment under pressure.
What is beta? (And why 20Hz?)
Beta brainwaves operate between 13 and 30 Hz. They are the most active brainwave state during waking life — present whenever you are engaged in conscious thought, problem-solving, or decision-making. Low beta (13–18 Hz) is associated with light focus and relaxed alertness. High beta (22–30 Hz) shows up during intense concentration but also during stress and anxiety.
The Deep Focus Pack uses 20Hz — right in the middle of the beta band. This frequency sits in the sweet spot between relaxed alertness and active concentration, making it ideal for sustained work sessions without tipping into the stress territory that high-beta can produce. It is the same frequency the Binaural Studio targets with its Beta — Deep Focus preset, so you can preview the quality before committing to the full pack.
The Deep Focus Pack contents
| Track | Duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Deep Focus 10min | 10 minutes | A quick mental warm-up before starting a demanding task — read the first page, check your to-do list, then dive in |
| Deep Focus 30min | 30 minutes | A proper deep work block — write a report, debug complex code, analyze data, or prepare a presentation |
| Deep Focus 60min | 60 minutes | An extended session for tasks that require sustained mental effort — long-form writing, research synthesis, architectural planning |
All three tracks use a 432Hz carrier frequency with a 20Hz beat frequency. They are clean sine-wave generations with smooth fade-in and fade-out, encoded as WAV files that play on any device — phone, laptop, car stereo, smart speaker. No subscription required. Buy once, use forever.
How to maximize beta focus sessions
Beta is not a passive listening experience. Because it activates your analytical brain, it works best when you pair it with actual mental work. Here's how to get the most out of each track:
- Define your task before starting. Open a document, write down one specific thing you want to accomplish during this session. Vague goals ("work on project") lead to vague results. Specific goals ("finish the introduction section of the report") produce actual progress.
- Remove distractions. Close unnecessary tabs, put your phone in another room, turn off notifications. Beta amplifies your focus — if you give it something to focus on, it will do its job. If you give it a half-dozen distractions, it will magnify those too.
- Play the track and work. Do not switch between tasks during the session. Commit to the single thing you defined in step one for the full duration of the track.
- Use the Pomodoro method if helpful. If 30 or 60 minutes feels too long, break it into four 7-minute blocks with 30-second pauses. The beta frequency still works — you just need to keep returning your attention to the task.
Beta vs gamma: which is better for focus?
| Feature | Beta (13–30 Hz, 20Hz pack) | Gamma (30+ Hz, 40Hz flow state pack) |
|---|---|---|
| Mental state | Sustained analytical focus | Creative insight and peak performance |
| Best use case | Data analysis, writing, coding, reading | Creative breakthroughs, complex problem-solving, synthesis |
| Sustainability | High — can sustain for hours with breaks | Moderate — best in focused 30–60 minute blocks |
| Intensity | Moderate — feels like natural concentration | High — can feel intense or overwhelming for some people |
| Studio preset | Beta — Deep Focus (20Hz) | Gamma — Peak Energy (40Hz) |
Think of beta as your daily workhorse and gamma as the special tool. Beta handles the bulk of your productive time — writing, analysis, coding, reading. Gamma is what you pull out when something demands a higher level of cognitive performance — when you need to see connections that are not obvious yet. The Deep Focus Pack covers everyday concentration; the Flow State Pack unlocks those moments where your mind needs to operate at maximum bandwidth.

Safety
Binaural beats are not a medical device. Do not use beta binaural beats while driving or operating machinery — they increase mental alertness, which is the opposite of what you want behind the wheel. If you have a history of epilepsy or photosensitive conditions, consult a medical professional before using any sound-entrainment tool. Beta at 20Hz is one of the more intense brainwave states; if you feel anxious, tense, or overwhelmed during listening, switch to alpha (10Hz) which provides a gentler level of focus. Research on entrainment is mixed; think of these sessions as a tool for self-directed attention, not a guaranteed outcome.
Try it now
Open the Binaural Studio, select the Beta — Deep Focus preset (20Hz), put on headphones, and give yourself ten minutes of uninterrupted work time. If you want to extend that focused state into longer deep work sessions, the Deep Focus Pack provides dedicated tracks designed specifically for sustained concentration.
